ET Haunts Me

When I was 6 I had just moved into the house I live in now. I had a dream that I was sleeping. Then I woke up to a bright light coming from the closet. I open it to find ET inside, on my plastic desk, with a knife saying,"ET KILL YOU!" I slammed the closet door and ran to the bedroom door. But out of nowhere ET was sitting in front of the door, on the table, with the knife and said the same thing. I jumped back in my bed and pulled th covers over my head. Then, something touched my shoulder very softly and I screamed as loud as my 6 year old voice would allow it. Then while I'm screaming someone shakes me awake. Still screaming kick what I think is my monster and I pull off the covers ready to fight. But it's my mom. I was actually awake for that last moment. Ever since then whenever I close my eyes I see an imprint of ET in my brain. It still scares me to this day. I'm 13 now. And btw, I had watched ET before I went to bed that night. Please help!! I'm confused as to what it means!!

hmm interesting but I think it is just an irrational fear because ET as we know is not real. There must be a hidden lesson that your not seeing in the dream or it would not still be with you I think. Try taking a closer look at your dream and see if there was something that maybe you missed. Something it was trying to tell but beyond than as said just a silly fear. I know this is not much but I hope this helps some

Almost every culture throughout time carries myths about faeries and other-worldly spirits, and our modern society is no exception. Gone are brownies and gremlins and little house spirits, but in their place are ET's and vampires and robots. And that is exactly what your ET represents. Part of the terror of the faeries of old were that while they appeared small and harmless, they uniformly possessed magics fell to mortals.

When you moved into your new home, you felt vulnerable, out of your comfort zone. This vulnerability expressed itself as the tranformation of the affable ET into a malign knife wielding spirit. Now, and likely for the foreseeable future, this ET image will represent insecurity and vulnerability to you. But as you confront it in dream and in life, it will undoubtably transform into the usual symbols of adolescents and adults.

Some anthropologists theorize that dreams of this sort are adaptive. That is, these dreams cause humans to be more alert and wary when circumstances become unfamiliar or hide dangers. Best wishes.
