Rank the ANOES series

Postby Pennywise on Thu Nov 19, 2009 1:07 am

I'll go first:

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge(1985)- Yeah, I said it. Everyone likes to call it "the gay one" due to the homosexual undertones(or overtones  ). But, it's my favorite of the series because it's dark, the kills are good, and it doesn't look as low-budget as the original. 9/10.

2. A Nightmare on Elm Street(1984)- Well, what can I say, it started the series, so it automatically get points from me. It was also very original for it's time, and who can forget Tina and Glen's death scenes? But like I said above, the film looks a little too low budget, and the ending left me going :dummy" . 8/10.

3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors(1987)- This is where the series starting getting comical, but it was still a great movie. And you gotta love Kincaid! 7/10.

4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master(1988)- A wonderful companion piece to Dream Warriors with likeable characters and an even more likeable protagonist. The only fault I can think of is the suriving dream warriors getting killed off so easily. 7/10.

5. Freddy vs. Jason(2003)- This was a surprisingly good crossover between, well, you know who. However, the main girl, Loree Campbell was hot but annoying, and I didn't care much for any of the characters except the for the titular duo. It would've been great to see Kane Hodder go up against Robert Englund instead of Ken Kirzinger, but oh well. 6/10.

6. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child(1989)It's OK I guess, but disappointing after how awesome 4 was. 4/10

7. Wes Craven's New Nightmare(1994)- I used to like this one, but when I watched it again, I was just bored. And I found the kid pretty unlikeable. Freddy's new look was pretty cool, and Heather Langenkamp's return was good too. Good idea, but the execution was boring and :dreams: . 3/10.

8. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare(1991)- Shit. Just complete and utter, shit. 1/10.

You don't have to go as in depth as me, by the way.

I liked the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd ones. The only other one I saw beyond those was the " Wes Craven's New Nightmare" and was that the one where the pig moved quickly across the table? lol that is one of my horror movie scares right up there with Carries grave hand. Fast movement scares me.
