Since Sugarbabes aren't rock (if anyone disagrees, I will cut them) I'll take your turn, and say...

Slayer.

I'm going in the wayback machine and say...

...Uriah Heep.

Early '70's British band that merged heavy keyboards (ala Deep Purple) with soaring harmonies for an overall heavy and progressive sound. They make many lists along with Deep Purple and Black Sabbath as being part of the early UK metal movement.

Their anthem "Easy Livin" is still a staple on weekend classic rock shows. The album art for "The Magician's Birthday" & "Demons & Wizards" shows up in most books depicting classic album art, they have a dark fairy tale/fantasy theme.

If not familiar, I suggest
Easy Livin
Stealin
The Wizard
Bird Of Prey (my favorite)

We Are The Fury

A band that had one great album (Venus) in 2007 and has since broke up. Their sound is a hodge podge of early '70's glam (T. Rex, Queen, New York Dolls, and David Bowie).

The Zombies

Influential 60's band whose '68 album "Odessey and Oracle" is ranked 80th best album of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. When Rod Argent left The Zombies he formed...Argent (imaginitive name). They had the '72 hit "Hold Your Head Up". The follow up single was a hit that KISS later covered, "God Gave Rock n Roll To You". Now you know!

Cybernauts

Cybernauts are Joe Elliott & Phil Collen of Def Lep combining forces with Trevor Bolder and Mick "Woody" Woodmansey who were members of David Bowie's early '70's backing band Spiders From Mars. Their 2001 CD has Ziggy Stardust era Bowie songs tackled fairly faithfully to the original versions. This was a dream come true for Joe and Phil, they were huge Bowie (Ziggy era) fans and they got to record with a couple of their boyhood heroes.

Down n Outz

Joe has been in another cover band recently called the Down n Outz. They play music by Mott The Hoople and bands that have members from MTH. Great DVD released two years ago recorded when the Joe and his band opened for a week long run of Mott The Hoople reunion shows at the Hammersmith Odeon.

Is their a connection between David Bowie & The Spiders From Mars and Mott The Hoople? You betcha! David Bowie wrote MTH's first hit, All The Young Dudes. Besides that, Spiders From Mars guitarist Mick Ronson joined Mott The Hoople when the Spiders broke up. Oh there's more! Ian Hunter (MTH vocalist), Mick Ronson and David Bowie appeared on stage together at the Freddie Mercury Memorial Concert.

I apologize for taking "C" and "D" but it all fit together so nicely.

Living End

Aussie band that have never broke through in the States. I saw them at a Warped Tour several years ago and it was one of my all time concert highlights. They have been putting out quality discs for over 10 years now.
