Get your favorite bands noticed!

I decided to make a thread that has nothing but the names of not so popular bands that deserve to be more noticed. I'm a huge music enthusiast, and I love to check out a new/old band that I've never heard of. Now we all don't have to agree what we think good music is (everyone is different), but it'll be interesting to check out some new music.

So I have a ton of bands but for now I'll just mention one that I've just now found a few months ago....

We Are Scientists-pop rock: This band is almost ten years old and I regret just now finding them! They are relatively popular over there in the UK, but don't have as much notoriety here in the states....which I think is a shame because they're awesome!! You can look them up on youtube, myspace, or on their offical website- www.wearescientists.com. Let me know if you check em' out, and what you think...or if you already heard of this band...still let me know what you think and jot down a few bands you think are ace.

Ascension: power metal: This band formed in 2004 and so far have only released one EP: The Moongate. I find their music to be quite great, and the only thing that needs improvement is the singing. You can check them out on YouTube or at http://www.myspace.com/ascensionbanduk. The demo version of the song "Blackthorne" has better drumming, though.

Local H- they are an awesome grunge band, i don't like grunge that much, (im more emo, sadly) but they are really good.

Got a whole bunch of bands don't know who likes what but here's a few

Autumns Grey Solace. Shoegaze, Dream pop. Like the Cocteau Twins but a thousand times better.
Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions. If anybody knows Mazzy Star they know this is the singer
Cruxshadows. Industrial goth music. Sometimes loud sometimes mellow
Joe Satriani. Some wicked guitar riffs, rock-heavy metal-whatever you want to call it. Not too unpopular but I'm just throwing things out there.

They're singer Warrel Dane trained to be an opera singer for 4 years, so he can hit the highs and lows.

They're guitarist Jeff Loomis is among the greatest guitar players that have ever lived. He can shred circles around any metalhead, and play melody that puts any emo bands guitarist to shame.

They're best described as Thrash-Progressive-Acid-Power metal. They have several albums, and another one being released next year.

Yay! I posted this thread a while ago, and nobody commented on it for a while. Thanks for the tips I'll check most out......oh and I've seen Suburban Legends at a show one time with Voodoo Glow Skulls and Knock-out.....awesome!

One band that I just now discovered even thought they are pretty old is the Libertines....awesome songs! Pete D. has a great voice

Bon Iver - it's mostly acoustic music, but he's definitely one of the best musicians i've heard in a while.

Some of my very favourites:

Beulah....Just awesome all the way around. I have heard it called Lo-Fi "Baroque Pop," for the diverse use of instruments.
Check out: If We Can Land a Man on the Moon, Gravity's Bringing Us Down
Rogue Wave......Another psychedelic indie pop band well worth listening to.
Check out: Every Moment, California
Patrick Watson.......I would say this is definitely chill-out music, and the lyrics are incredibly deep - like a lush, out of this world dreamscape
Check out: Big Bird In a Small Cage, Step Into a Dream
The Sounds.......The best New Wave since the 80's, excellent female vocalist reminiscent of Blondie, and the lyrics are good too!
Check out: Mine for Life, Midnight Sun
The 88.......Somewhere between pop and New Wave, a great sound
Check out: Hide Another Mistake, Nobody Cares

These are only a few of the bands I have discovered that are absolutely out of this world!

who has heard of HIM?
there a great band from finland. their singer, guitarist and pianist are amazing. they came up with Love Metal. its like in their song 'Drunk On Shadows' a killer intro, both guitar and piano, once its over guitar volume goes down and you hear the singers voice with no hard rock in the background. this is very hard to explain just hear them.
their lyrics are somewhat dark, but their songs have a great meaning.

Three Days Grace - they are a hard rock/post-grunge/alternative band from Norwood, Ontario, Canada. they have been Three Days Grace since 1997.
i really love this band, they are definately one of my faves, and they have three albums out : Three Days Grace, One-x, and their newest, Life Starts Now, which i got the day it came out :cabbagepatch:

i love them so much, and they deserve to be famous! does anyone here already know them?

I think they're british but they do really nice songs.
They do the song that was on those christmas commercials for sears with the different types of hugs.

"Baby It's not your sleighride, but this year, its ours" something like that.

I also really love Death Cab for Cutie and Jack's mannequin.

well, my fav band is well known, but it needs some recognition. QUEEN!!!! i absolutely ADORE Queen!!! Queen is, without a doubt, the best band in the entire universe, and will be until the end of time!!!

I loved Within Temptation's first album, Enter. It had really dark lyrics and epic death metal growls :excited:

The bad news though is that the album isnt available in the US and their more recent albums dont have the death growls anymore
