We need to focus on what is really true, what cant be diluted by opinion and ever growing gaps in information. We are all people, if we live in the United States- we are Americans. Unite people, do not label yourselves or pick a side. There is only one side, US. And the saddest truth is there are very few things we can do to fight back. Protesting is hardly enough, besides it sets up sides, we're not at war with each other, we're against being taken advantage of, and your neighbor isn't responsible for your home being foreclosed on or your son or daughter being called back to active duty in a war we cant win, or for the millions of job losses all around us, they are hurting too. Being politically active is only going to get you used for someone elses' intents and purposes. We are world leaders, as a nation, and yet less than 5% of our nation can name their state reps, congress or senate people. Even less can name the prime ministers of Canada or Britian, the president of Mexico, and the only reason we know who Nicholas Sarcose is is because he had a scandalous affair with a model. We are more concerned with what's going on in the make believe world of Lost- who's going to win the next American Idol, and what funny thing Glen Beck is going to rant about on Fox tonight than we are with the well being of people in the world all around us. We are dumb. We are unaware, and uneducated as a mass. In short, if you don't like something, ask yourself why not? Be aware of toxic behaviors and actions and exude the opposite. Sort your trash, recycle, buy local, shop at thrift stores, research your local politicians- beyond tabloids and smear campaigns- VOTE APPROPRIATELY on local issues, write letters to your state when they say one thing and do another- someone DOES read them. All of them. Be a hero- volunteer at rec centers, shelters and soup kitchens, boycott products that: use child labor, boast carcinogens in their ingredients, cycle your money into war machines, and are blatantly useless or made with planned obsolescence. Be smart people- and talk! Tell your neighbors what you are doing, tell your friends, when you learn something new and FACTUAL that can enlighten others, dont keep it to yourself. Of course a lot of people aren't ready to hear, but many are. Before we try to take our country back, let's try and take back our own lives and if every person in this country could do that, there would be no room for the scandal and manipulation we all know is running the show behind the curtain.

This is rediculous. The Teabaggers have no idea what they're supposedly "fighting" for. The Boston Teaparty was an act of rebellion in regards to taxation without representation. You are So right.. Im a firm believer in karma, and i wonder if this state of affairs we are in is not our own karma visiting.. We have stuck our noses and guns into too many countries.. I am sad about it, and embarressed to be American. (If I could get free passage to another country like England, or France, Italy Id leave in a second).. To be perfectly honest, Ive never been politically involved and like a lot of people Ive been one who put trust in my leaders to do what was right and good for me, my family, the world.. and I feel very powerless now to do much about our situation. for me its not all about herb. i want to go for a lot of reasons. this country was supposed to be a place where people could live and be free. there are so many laws being made that takes our american freedoms away. there are things we should be allowed to do as long as its not interfering with the rights of others. we need signatures and lawyers and lobbyists on our side. its every aspect of our lives being taken over by the government. they say we choose our own president but do we really? we are given a choice of people to vote for based on the criteria they match. even if poor average blow joe would make a great american leader, he could never run for president if he didnt meet the standards. its not really about what the government is doing, its about what were being forced to do. they ban a plant that god made and put here. isnt it us to decide if we wanna smoke it or eat it, or not? they promised coupons for a certain gun way back when but it was a lie, the government really were not making the coupons. the whole smoking thing. thousands of years people have been smoking and now there are all these laws being passed thats infringing on our rights as american citizens. also, you cant drink a beer when your 18 in nc but you can sign your life over to the government and be sent to another country where you might have to make split life and death decisions? where is the thinking in that? a police officer i know made this comment to me. he stated how he hated wearing his seat belt. he said it should be up to the individual person. he said wearing my seat belt doesnt make me a better driver and it doesnt put anyone elses life at stake but my own but yet the government tells me i have to wear it. what he said makes sense. 300 years ago we didnt have experts telling us about smoking, too much sun, how to raise your children,etc. people just did it b/c it was life. most things are common sense. all mankind has done for years is survive. i think we as the human race have been doing a good job at that. its the rest of mankind that thinks without money and technology we have no hope. like the big y2k scare. oh no, god forbid everything electronic or computerized fucked up, wed all die. bullshit! we are humans, we survived without it before we could do it again. i know im rambling and not putting it into perspective but anyone with half a brain should get it. or do you need a expert to tell you? lol
