Drawing one's soul

Postby litlep on Sat Feb 04, 2012 9:52 pm

greetings peoples. I have a little question. Can anyone do this thing that I seem to be able to do?

you see I have terrible Face-Blindness. (It's where you instantly forget what someone looks like the moment you look away.) But this is the interesting part. Instead of the face I have an image of shapes and lines in my mind. I am able to draw them and they are quite fastinating. I call them soul symbols but I'm not too sure. Everyone seems to have a unique dreawing Can anyone else do the same thing as me?

Also if you're interested I can send you a drawing of yourself. It won't be as good as they can for they will be paint for I don't have a camera but let me know if you're interested.

I think you forget the 'whole' imagery, but a vague resemblance remains. This enables you to organize each seen image, even if you latter forget it, and draw a unique features for each.

I must say I'm very interested in how these drawings look. How is it that these figures come to you?

To DRLHyper... Hmm yes that would possibly be it. It definitely seems that way.

To SamZee... I have no idea. I just kind of sit down with pen and paper and think about that person and the shapes just kind of appear without me really seeing it in my head and yes, they are quite fastinating. Some are extremely complex, some are quite simple and everyone of them is unique

Adding on SamZee's query; from your perspective, what do shapes look to you?

litlep,

I find this face memory deficit and artistic impression intriguing indeed.
Impressions of people is a unique experience and what interest me about how we see each other
is the tendency to be able to pick up nuances, traits and matters about a person via non-verbal
other than rational modalities..... where does that come from?

My personal sensitivities to (we'll say ASSUME) read a room is that I can usually, when I try, tell you how in a matter of seconds how 10-15 people in a setting will stack-up as far as, nice, rude, religious, funny, who's a dolt and who "gets it" and then I don't wind up too far off the mark. If I were a lawyer.. jury selection would probably be the easiest thing on my calender...

Anywayz... I'd be interested in seeing you stick around and give a few of us a read/draw.... and show them to everyone
We, as people who also have some impressions of our regulars may be able to pick up on some relate-able edges, colors, blots and other impressions you might pick up on and illustrate in some figurative way.

It would make for a cool experiment, imo.

Recently last Thursday morning before last, coincidentally, I was musing on what my essence might look like. (or anyone's for that matter) In my imagination I thought it could be like a piece of marble, with my spirit being the black veins that run through it..only the white part being like soul & the eternal part. It may just have an image drawn from analogy. I also assumed along those lines that the more one works on the spiritual side and walks right, and strives to live a sanctified life, the more whiter while in this world.... I suppose this is a kinda weird idea.

All right everyone *ahem* this is embarassing. I was sure you could just "upload" as it were, a picture but I realise it's a bit more than that. I've drawn all your souls... but... I'm not exactly sure how to... er... show them to you... Um can someone help a noob out?

Upload them to http://www.tinypic.com one at a time. After you upload the file, copy and paste the "direct link" into the message body. Highlight just the link in the message body and click the Img button. It should look something like this:

I can also suggest you to use Imageshack. It requires registration to make images permanent, but you can store as many as you wish for free as well.

Damn, I was so eager to see these but unfortunately there was a problem. I think you copy & pasted the wrong type of link. The direct link should end with the file name and extension/file-type. So that when you visit the link, the only thing that loads is the picture and nothing else. If you're still having problems, you can just e-mail me the files and I'd be more than happy to take care of it. Samzee@gmail.com :)

Nice interpretation tsetse22,

I can't decide how to interpret a few, but I defiantly saw yours as turning (something not so harmonious into something with harmony and equality). I saw akasha as a (tornado or whirlwind of energy). I can't decide if mine is an angel or a face with stars in the eyes and a third eye. 3 was a definite symbol though.

Still, very kool!

Anywayz, I wanna try on this new avi for awhile ! !

thank you litlep! (no copyright infringement, I hopes) :)

Very interesting. I can't say I know what to make of mine but I must say that Akasha's seems the most significant to me. The spiral alone is very significant. Spiraling is inherent in the nature of the universe. In theory how gravity flows and light travels, the structure of DNA, the Milky Way. Perhaps most importantly, the nature of energy flow through the Chakras. This brings me to my next point of interest -- the oval shapes. There are 7 of them, and 7 energy centers. So it looks like the energy is spiraling upward from the Root to the Crown which is exactly what happens. Again, very interesting. =]

Nah just black and white. (Or blue, red, ect depending on the pen I use). You're going into more the auras area. You need my best friend for that, she can see auras. Unfortunately she's not on this forum. :(

Another note. Your interpretations are quite logical but I would have absolutely no idea. I just draw them, so don't ask me. :eat:

But I guess you're right. I'll make the next soul symbol smaller in size

This looks interesting, lilep. Could you try one for me?

How do you see what the souls look like, or do you concentrate on the person/poster and just draw till something is completed?

Re: Drawing one's soul

Postby BlissBaby13 on Sat Feb 25, 2012 12:16 am

This truly looks like an amazing talent; I wish I could do this. I'm artistic myself, but what you do is just brilliant. Have you been able to do this all your life, or has it developed over time? If it's not too time-consuming, please could you maybe do a very quick one for me? I've been thinking about whether a soul can be translated into a single image for a little while now, about whether the thing is too multi-faceted to be properly captured, but this just looks so awesome...
Sorry for asking so many questions - it's just really intruiging! ^///^ Namaste!

Along with your soul I answer your question thustly. Nah I don't need to concentrate very hard. Kinda hard with other people around though.

It's a bit dodgy. It's actaully supposed to be parallel but paint wouldn't have it

BlissBaby13.

What do you mean so many questions? I can only find two.
Answer for the second one is I tried it once because I cannot draw for mnnne so I did a few of my friends (they don't know, they'd never understand) and found it surprisingly accurate.

As for the other one...

That view it looks like a bell. So it is supposed to be on its side?

Thanks, what are these telling us about ourselves?
