What do you think is the best music to listen to?

I say three days grace stuff is! XD

Ignoring the obvious objection that no art can be "best", I'm going to say that my favourite type of music to listen to, in an umbrella sense, would be electronica. Specifically things that are... experimental, I suppose.

I am with DD. I am an old rocker. Lately I ran across a bunch of CDs that me and my son had made a for a car trip from Ohio to California. The best stuff on there was some old David Bowie stuff. The song the stayed with me the most was "Memory of a Free Festival".

I was made to wear a santa sweater that had jingle bells all over it and given reindeer slippers to wear as a gift.

I remember reading this in school when I was 15, or thereabouts. I was never told to read it, but the title grabbed me.
I like the overall tone and, well, it's stayed with me for about 5 years. No idea if it's actually a "good" poem or not, but I like it.

I have been obsessing over this song, Maria, Maria by Carlos Santana:

The line that gets me the most is : Si, while the rich is getting richer, the poor is getting poorer!

It is a quote from Jesus, and one time when I was singing this song, I realized what it really meant....It is not about the economy. Jesus did not discuss that kind of thing. He was talking about richness in faith and poverty in faith..and in spirit. The faith and how it works inside you makes you stronger in love and in faith...you get richer. When your faith is weak, the negativity eats away at the little you do have..you get poorer. I know this from personal experience in both cases.

Your theme song apparently. Thank you for being so open and honest. In a weird way, your philosophy and attitude are sort of positive...because it "has helped you live without fear of fucking up". Sometimes I think "what is the worst that could happen?" Like your example of ending up in a 1 room bedsit...then you can go for it full throttle and not worry about the consequences because that is the worst...and you end up with even better consequences.

Yeah, my general attitude is pretty positive. Probably didn't get that across too well, though. Oops.
It seems really negative to say "nothing matters" because people assume that means "so it's suicide time." When I really thought about it, and reached the conclusion that nothing matters, I realised that everything that makes me feel negatively is completely meaningless. At first, that made me angry (ironically), but soon it sunk in that it just meant that there's no need to feel bad. It doesn't matter how I feel, so why not be happy?

Actions have consequences, yeah. But when I'm dead, I won't care. I'll be dead. Same for everyone else. Same for all of existence. In the long run, there are no consequences.

It's human to be emotional. Your post reminds me of a quote from Kahlil Gibran that I can't find right now, but the gist of it is: The deeper that you feel sorrow, the higher will your capacity for happiness be.

Even so, clearly you don't want to mope around. It is good to get your feelings out on paper in front of you. I used to draw with black India ink on paper all the time. I even drew a couple of comic books. The hero was named Sir Real!

She has deep insight into the workings of the human soul. She is a contemplative from Spain in the 16th century. If the powers that be during the Spanish Inquisition when she lived had their way, her books would have all been destroyed. Thank God she had friends from the Church in Rome who preserved them.

To answer the question I would say so far it'd be The Stand by Stephan King ^~^ I am like my mom and into horror sucks I left it at school >_<

@ OM Skimmed through the book it was great ^~^. I just free draw my sonic character Rose in poses how I feel. Who would be basically me except more messed up and older XD makes me feel better at least. I mainly got inspired from seeing tails the fox hence she came to life.

My character was me, too except..he could do anything that I imagined. A teacher told me that he was my alter ego.
