@ shar. Christmas comes and goes so fast. It's a day to relax and pig out with family.

I just read through yours and KRSTYSTCLR's posts about your brother, Dario and KRSTY's son both living with this now. I hope both your loved ones will be okay and live hopefully long happy lives regardless of the disease they now have and wishing reconciliation for each of you too. :( :hugs:

I am prolly about the worse googler around, but I quickly went to see if I could find any other links for you both to read, Shara's post was lovely and promising for each of you. Here are a few, can have a look-see if you'd like. I agree with the others who hope you both reach out and talk with your loved ones this holiday.

I find that a reliable explanation of mean people...except in Parousia's case.. I think he just likes to put others down for fun. It's gotten to the point where it's actually funny... and I think that's his intent all along.

Well done P..for developing a persona here to give you a way to express....Now let other's do the same in their way, eh?

In a way we read these Think Tank contributions through the perspective of how they relate to our own world, or views of it. The issues and dreams discussed in Think Tank II all read relevant to they world I live in too, so.....

I want to thank everyone who has participated in these discussions. :unworthy:

I think it's no coincidence that these people (you guys) hold dreams in more attentive regard than the average person... It reflects an ability (or at least a desire) to know yourselves better. I'm not here as much as I used to be, but it's still my favorite site on the Web

Considerate post and respectful of everyone here, thankies for what you stated. Everyone has a story to share, maybe not everyone wants to read or listen to it but that doesn't mean others do not and that others cannot possibly supply a bit of help and comfort to those who are asking and seeking. Isn't that what a community does? Of course it is. I am sure we all will come back in 2012 we all new concerns to share, until then enjoy the rest of 2011.

@ Parousia on KPerry's song, I find it amusing and catchy.

Here is my last question prolly before we hit 2012! It is a year end review question:

What would be your 2011 CHEER and JEER from the past year?
What news story made you cheer, celebrate and what story made you angry, upset or sad? Any story you like, no matter how big or small as long as it touched you enough to care about it. If you do not recall all that went on in the last year you can prolly google a run down of the top 2011 news stories to give yourself more of an idea.

My Cheer would be...The killing of Osama bin Laden during a raid by Navy SEALs on his hideout in Pakistan! Was about time for that to happen, I think some gave up hope they would ever find him. I think his death brought a lot of closure to those who lost loved ones 9/11. I personally would have preferred they captured him, not kill on sight and have him stand trial, that would have given more closure I felt. And then publicly executed him. But that is just my opinion.
My Jeer would be... The not guilty verdict in the Casey Anthony trial. Very sad. It is still beyond me how they came to that conclusion, even if they felt it was an accident her behaviors and cover up afterwards shows that this woman didn't care what happened to her child. Now she will make a new life and have new babies and possibly kill them too, gawd knows, got away with it once, she now feels above the law, who knows what kind of sociopath she will further become. And since that verdict to me it looks like more parents are offing their kids. I am sure it only appears to be because it is being reported more heavily now, but still overall very depressing bc there are so many cases of the missing and murdered children.

Nice post by tsetse, smart man! Nice comments by brake4wind on that post.

Jeremy- (Personally) I don't think of dreams as 'omens' (per say)- more like a memo to self. I think when we dream our subconscious thoughts or those nagging little feelings in the back of our mind come to the surface. At times, to pay attention to our intuition or; what our instincts or our hearts are telling us and we are too busy during the day to examine them more closely.

Mental reminders? Like a string on the finger, only in our minds and the dreams are placing the strings.

I usually notice things, but when life gets hectic you put that aside and forget[ like you stated], and you think dreams are the reminders for what falls through the cracks?

I agree with you, I got some resolution already regarding that dream, with work. :D

I'm not much of a news watcher, hun, but I'll give it go since I think you lost all the deep thinkers on here to the holidays. lolz

Cheer: Gadhafi and the public killing, lolz. The was worth watching! what can I say I enjoyed the whole coverage of that. My girl would say Prince William's wedding and that nauseating coverage.

Jeer: I will go with a natural disaster. That huge quake that hit Japan and tsunami. I was riveted to the news coverage and videos on it. Nature can really fuck you over!

Peace to all!

First, I apologize if I came across a little too aggressively. I certainly didn't intend to, especially with either one of these ladies. It's not the topic either, it's just me right now. Normally I'm pretty calm. It's just that I tend to establish a more aggressive mindset while deployed, for obvious reasons, and it's not always easy to switch it off. Bear with me.

I agree that these two ladies didn't consider this type of scenario, that was the point. To demonstrate a senario using the same parameters they believe they are entitled to use, where those parameters are not only unacceptable, but illegal. Hopefully to give some perspective. I can't say I'm completely against abortion in all scenarios, but I'm certainly not a supporter of it. I don't know the exact moment an egg and sperm become a life, and neither does anyone else, so I can't say I have all the answers on this. What I DO know is that at some point, that baby has it's own heartbeat, and if it has a heartbeat, it's alive. I also know that at some point the baby starts moving around in there. Independent movement, especially coupled with a heartbeat, is a great sign of life. If your unconscious, a doctor can do a sternal rub to check and see if you can still respond to stimuli. That will let them know if you are brain-dead right off the bat. No brain activity, no response. Another thing I know is that the womb is not only an incubator, but it's a life-support system for that child. Let's say a loved one got into a horrific car accident and was badly injured. They were placed on life-support to help them breathe. Doc thinks they'll be ok with time, but right now they need that ventilator and IV nutrients to help them heal. What would you do? Tell the dr, "I'm not ready to take care of them doc, go ahead and unplug 'em"? No, because it's illegal for one. Yet that's what you do during an abortion. You unplug a child from their life-support.

To abort means to terminate, and to terminate means to bring to an end. If life hasn't begun, then how can you end it?

The worst though is late-term and partial-birth abortions. Partial-births are where they actually induce labor, wait for the head to start crowning, then take a drill to it's skull and make mashed-potatoes of it's brain, killing the child...oh sorry, rendering the fetus non-viable. That's a nightmare image if I ever imagined one. Late term abortions are done when the child could actually survive outside the womb, and in a disturbing number of cases, has. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2054648/Abortion-clinic-workers-Philadelphia-admit-killing-spree.htmlThink about that. Think about a crying, helpless newborn having it's spine cut because it had the audacity to survive being aborted. There is a book out there, written by a woman who was actually a late-term abortion, who survived the abortion, and lived her life. But according to your arguments ladies, an abortion only affects the woman having it. That's not the truth though.
I think a woman of age, 18+ and out from under her parents roof can do as she see fits with her own body.
I couldn't agree more.
Those are things she is doing to herself, no one else.
Not even close. An abortion is the worst kind of rape. You force your will onto another living being who is utterly defenseless, and take everything they ever will be away from them before they even have a chance to try.

I'll get off my soap-box now! :D

i tried to quote the whole thing but got a warning saying you can only embed 5 quotes within each other, so i deleted rest out. :?

 it was getting heated. sorry i missed it. i am okay with what you said, we don't have to agree & it's still cool. the thing you took offensive with is something i said, not the other girl. :hugs: . . . sorry i am bringing back old news, but was off. i'll answer something recent too.

i don't think there is an anti-christ.
that cheese story is ridiculous, who'd ever eat that for real?
i hate racists, sexists and homophobes, that about covers that! ;)

The Egyptians and Libyans for pushing for freedom, regardless of what form it may take.
The Navy SEALS for allowing sunlight into the mind of Bin Laden.
The Iraqis as they finally take the helm in running their own country without needing the US to prop them up. Good luck guys!

JEERS to:
Pakistan. REALLY? Are you really going to try and say you didn't know he was there? Go fuck yourself and give our billions back you ingrateful back-stabbing little pricks.
Casey Anthony. You killed your daughter and then partied your ass off. WTF?!? You should burn in Hell. Alone.
Obama. You're not a king, and this is the USA, not the USSR. Back off asshole! :whistling:

I do it in a sense, music, being a musician. I would like to be more than a bar gigger or backup, get a cd made, tour.

I am happy where I am for now. I don't need to be famous to be happy but to be recognized as a talent would be nice. lolz

why? i gave it a 5 because there is alot of both bad and good going on. just that the good rarely gets much attention. everyday people are being tortured, raped, and killed. but also everyday lives are being saved, babies are being born, miracles are happening. i mean every morning you awake you are given a chance to live a life others could only dream of living. ain't that a miracle. http://youtu.be/LsD8mGZbRq4

I will agree with you, Guardian and jojo on the first being the end of Osama Bin Laden. The right to marry passing in New York, the removal of DADT, would be some cheers.
For jeers-- California's Prop 8, Bullying( that teens feeling suicide is the only answer), the attraction to all things celebrity( Sheen, Lohan, Kardashian) flooding the airwaves more than ever in 2011.

okayyyyyy??? i have to leave in 10mins so i'll be quick. #1. i don't watch tv much so i can't say much about the news. #2. i don't have a dream job. exploring and fitness is my only passion so its all i do. whether i make something of it or not is irrelevant. it is the only thing i'm willing to sacrifies everything for. as for my dream location: i'm living in it. i couldn't think of a better place to live. #3. as for your question: christmass has no meaning to me but i still enjoy the holiday. peace out ;)

:) that was great, I like to read what everyone thinks on each question asked. Is there a reason you do not watch the news-- I read back there Jeremy said he doesn't follow the news either. I remember reading you left your job, you said you were a banker then? Are you happier now?

my social life has improved but it could be better. i rub people the wrong way alot without meaning to.

why? i gave it a 5 because there is alot of both bad and good going on. just that the good rarely gets much attention. everyday people are being tortured, raped, and killed. but also everyday lives are being saved, babies are being born, miracles are happening. i mean every morning you awake you are given a chance to live a life others could only dream of living. ain't that a miracle. http://youtu.be/LsD8mGZbRq4

Your right but I'm still reluctant to give a 5. So much bad stuff in the world that's sometimes it's hard to see the good things.
The video was touching.

I thought that with newyears coming, its a good time to appreciate the people that made me feel good. Im starting to get back in touch with old friends and family as well. I wish you and all the above mentioned DM'ERS a wonderful and truely prosperous New Year! :) (i can only make a happy face but I mean hugs too)

You should not censor yourself on what you really feel on certain topics-- especially in this forum section, even in News. If people do not agree they can debate with you on it and as long as both parties keep it respectable, no one would be put off. It is not what you say it is how you may say it, I think.
Banking is a good job, I agree. It is admirable to walk away in order to be happier.

Look who he is playing to though[Gingrich], he is an over stuffed, sanctimonious, hypocritical, bigoted blow hard.

Lolz @ SharA2's pictures. I'll give you some bash him jokes then.
