Sleep Paralysis Demon?

Postby Elemental on Wed Jul 06, 2011 9:06 am

I have this urge to tell somebody that last night I experienced sleep paralysis. I am aware of what causes this thanks to my psychology professor. However, last night right before my body under went sleep paralysis what I saw lying on me was supernatural. I felt something land roughly on my neck, I try to google what I saw but nothing came close to what I seen. As I lied there frighteningly unable to move with this thing on my neck It was also talking to me in thoughts. The sleep demon was telling me about my family, I cannot remember exactly but it was insinuating that they cant help me. When I gathered up the strength to move my body ( head, arm then leg to move in that order) the thing laying on my neck disappeared. I was so disturbed that I did not want to return to sleep.

If you are aware of sleep paralysis then you know while you sleep your brain shuts down the major organs and muscles in your body to prevent you from acting out a dream. Although, I believe that there is more to this than what science can explain. What I seen was all to real. What are these sleep demons or trolls/spirits? Are they here to harm us in our sleep? or do they just want to communicate to us only by the way they know how, through our sleep?

If you have ever experienced sleep paralysis and seen something lying on you, or just want to tell your story feel free.

The only time i have experience sleep paralysis is after a night terror,, I wake up suddenly unable to move. I am pretty sure it's from the shock of the night terror and my body always feels like it's buzzing all over. There was one time when i experienced it and then a sudden horrid migrane came after around 10 seconds of being awake. I have only had migraines as bad as this in sleep paralysis, i'm not sure if this is due to a sleep deamon or not haven't really questioned it. Sometimes I wake and feel a presence in my room, but never anywhere else if i sleep elsewhere. Hope this helps x

The sensation of something lying on you during sleep paralysis is not uncommon. In fact some attribute sleep paralysis to the phenomenon of alien abduction. The sense that "something" is in the room with you could be very primal to the human mind. However, (and this is a big one) if you believe in subconscious contact by other entities (evil ones) I have resorted to shouting in my mind the power of Christ's protection to drive "it" away and it works. In other instances, during sleep paralysis, the presence is not threatening at all and actually amusing or downright silly.
And here was another reality check....I have two cats that sleep on my bed and when I woke up thinking there was something evil attacking me....there is absolutely no response from the cats. I would think that a truly evil presence would have them bolt from the bed.

i personally believe in spirits, evil and good. I am torn about sleep paralysis. They have this scientific explenation about seeing/feeling something when this occures. I don't remember the science behind it, but it was something about the chemicals in your brain make you see/feel those things. I believe it is possible to be a demon or mischievious spirit though.

i have had 2 friends go through this. one was as you were saying. he woke up and could not move, a very evil something was holding him down he said. he said the evil woman "the hag" was telling him evil horrible scary things in his head. even trying to pray did not help him though. he said this demon would make him unable to pray. he is cathlic.

my other friend, who like me has no "claimed religion" woke up unable to move and heard classical music playing and had a very scary feeling.

did you try praying ever? i'm curious if that helped you.

in 1 part of my life i had sleepparalysis all the time, that time I was traveling a lot, different beds, what I also heard was that you should not have electronic devices in your bed before going to sleep.

In my opinion sleep paralysis can be caused by you problems in your life, and that if you think too much thinking about deep things it would also be the cause of it. You should think less and act more. :dummy"

Mmm... my friends had sleep paralysis before, but when they have it-- they see this woman or man dressed in black with a hood (grim reaper? Without a scythe though) and you can't see his/her's face. The person dressed in black will walk towards your bed until they're standing right next to it, then they'll peer at you until you break free.

On some documentary channels, I've seen some stuff about ghosts, imps and paranormal things on top of you just so they can stop you from moving while sucking your energy. Personally, I've had sleep paralysis before though it is when I have this feeling of doom in my sleep, but I can break free easily (things become quite lucid when the uneasiness starts).

Only once in my life have I experienced something similar to what you describe. I was very, very tired after a long flight into Las Vegas and I was staying at the Excaliber Hotel Casino. As soon as I hit the room I was in my nightgown and under the covers to fall asleep. However, I did not fall asleep. Within minutes I was paralyzed and yet felt fully awake and could not move. There was a heaviness on my chest and stomach like something was lying on top of me. I forced myself awake several times to stop the sensation, only to again fall close to sleep and enter the same state of paralysis. Each time this happened, I think I was dreaming but it was as if there was a presence in the hotel room trying to tell me something. My first dream (all the while with the pressure on my chest) was of the TV showing a reporter talking about an alien ship that had landed abducted people from the Las Vegas strip. Then I awoke and forced the sensation away again. Fell back asleep and this time the TV had a an alien talking directly to me through the screen saying that if I didn't believe in aliens I should get up and go look out the window. He then showed on the screen a giant UFO as it landed on a rooftop of a casino. I awoke and went to the window (Awake again) that there seemed to be some sort of burn markings evenly on the rooftop that I could see from my room window. I thought, I'm too tired for this foolishness, so I went back to bed only to have the paralysis instantly return this time much worse. So I again forced myself awake and finally out loud spoke that I believed and to leave me alone and let me sleep soundly. I then slept soundly the entire night.

I know and understand that sleep paralysis is so that we do not all become sleep walkers while we sleep and act out our dream. Many who do not have the paralysis become sleep walkers and rant and rave while dreaming. I am also not a big believer in aliens but after this incident I had to give it a second thought but I still do not believe in aliens. If anything, I think aliens are simply demons pretending to be aliens to continue to fool us into believing they do not exist.

Now, as for the posters experience. I'd just like to add that I do believe he may have been experiencing an actual demon trying to convince him that family is not important. Don't believe it. Family can and will help. I once sliced open my hand on huge knife and the blood was spurting everywhere, I turned from the counter to the sink to run water on it and out of the corner of my eye (completly awake) I saw a small round little demon, fat and red and it was glaring its eyes at the blood spurting from my vein and laughing with glee. I totally believe in demons.

I have had this feelings a few times very recently. The first time was just a feeling of complete fear and the inability to move. The seconed time was one of the scariest thins in my entire life. I woke up completely unable to move. I was struggling and trying to push my arms or legs up, but it felt like a force was holding me down. And on top of that I saw what appeared to be a ghost flying around my room and a small sliver of what appeared to be a hand... and the scariest part was at the foot of my bed I saw a clown after I managed to barely raise my head up... I knew what I was seeing was eathier inreal or demonic. SSo I did pray it did not stop the feelings of terror but it helped me be mentaly calm as possible till is passed. The last time it happened was stranger still but I felt no terror or worry. I just came out of a dream completely bumb but my entire body shook and my breathing was as though I was hyper ventalating. and Clear as day I heard beside me a woman say to me "Are you okay?" and I was home alone...

But I find these things happen whenver you are "pulled" out of a dream instead of just waking up. and U have heard dont lay on your back which I think is true everytime it haes happened I slept on my back.

I've gone through "sleep paralysis" for over 9 years. It started when I was 13. I grew up in a Christian home and one night my mom was telling stories to my cousin about being held down in her sleep, having premonitions...etc. She said when she would be held down, she would call on Jesus and it would leave. My cousin said she had the same experience except with hers she actually saw the demon hovering over her and it had red, glaring eyes. She used the same defense "Jesus". now, being 13 I was scared but I took notes. That very night as I was going to sleep, I began to hear a noise sounding like it came from hell and it kept increasing and growing louder. I spoke "Jesus" and it immediately wen't away. I woke up and turned the lights on. I dont think I went back to sleep that night. So yea, that was just the beginning. After that.. I would get "sleep paralysis" except that this time, i could hear nothing. I would only remember not being able to move and when i tried to speak "Jesus" it was as if someone was covering my mouth. This happenned almost every night to me, it was upsetting. When I turned 17, i began going to church. Thats when everything started changing. I took God very seriously and the more I kept going, the more frequently I got attacked. One night, after I finally accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, I had this experience that made me realize, Yes "sleep paralysis" is caused by actual forces in the spirit realm. Here's what happenned. I was laying in my livingroom on the couch. No one was home except me and my baby who was only an infant at the time. So as I was laying there and drifting off into sleep.. I heard a voice that sounded like the voice of a troll and it said to me 'Hi, how are you?". Now i couldn't see anything even though my eyes were opened and I was very aware of my surroundings but i couldnt move and I knew something wasn't right. I also knew that no one was home so i wondered where the voice came from. Without even responding to the question, I did what I knew to do.. I called on "Jesus" and as soon as i said the name "Jesus" the troll voice shrieked and screamed as if it was in pain and it cursed me. It said "AAHHH You stupid B-tch!" and then it sounded as if it was dissinigrating and fading away. I then woke up. Since that day, i've been battling demons ever since. I noticed that it happenned more frequently when i would sleep with someone. When you sleep with someone, you share thier demons. For the last 2 years i've been practicing abstinance and I am more committed to Christ than ever before. The attacks dont happen as much as they used to. They happen once in a blue but for the most part they dont. I just want to let everyone know "We wrestle not against flesh and blood" Ephesians 6:10.. You can believe me or not, these are my shoes and I've lived it. God Bless

Re: Sleep Paralysis Demon?

I've only had a problem with demons a couple of times. Generally whenever I go through sleep paralysis it's just bugs or spiders really big ones. If not big, then there's a lot of them.
The first one happened when I was about six, and it was a bunch of ants crawling all over me and I couldn't move or scream - it was horrifying. I ended up having to crawl into the above bed with my sister to get up off the bed closer to the ground.
Then there was this thing with a giant-ass hornet flying in my face. And I was face-down on the pillow when it was happening and it landed on my stuffed animals and I kept telling myself it wasn't real over and over again, but it wasn't going away. Finally I just sort of sprang up and then tripped out of the bed and when I looked up it was gone.
And then a third time was more like a hallucination because I wasn't paralyzed. I could move, although it was difficult. Maybe that's because my fear of spiders, esp. ones close to my face, is greater than any other fear I have.
Anyway, I was stirring and I looked off to the side and there was this tiny little gray and black spider just chilling there... on my pillow. I screamed like banshee and managed to wake up my sister (and she blasts her radio when sleeping). Although I screamed repeatedly until she woke up, even then she didn't come to get me. I was huddled up next to my stuffed animals, crying, and I had knocked the pillow off my bed along with my back pillow and the thing I put under my pillow to elevate me head. And that I was clawing at my legs while trying to cover myself with just my t-shirt.

So finally I bolted from my room and I was half-way to my parents room when my legs just gave out from under me. But that didn't stop me, I dragged myself using just my arms to get to my parents room. By the time my mother woke up and figured out I was in some sort of trouble, I was upright and totally a blithering mess. She calmed me down though. This is one reason I'm terrified to live alone, I might add.

Now the demons that have come before, I handled those. Yes, it was terrifying, totally. They looked like shadows with a barely human shape. I can't even begin to describe it. But it was so weird, I found it terrifying yet at the same time I also didn't. It felt so real yet I was both afraid and I wasn't. There was an eerie calmness in the back of my mind. One half was telling me I should be pissing my pants, but the other half was telling me it's too unrealistic looking to be real. It's not like the bugs that looked so real that it could be real.
But I could also feel it. I just kept calm though, I couldn't flip out over it. Even if a part of me wanted to, even if it felt real, I knew that it wasn't realistic that it didn't look real enough to be scary. Like horror movies. Scary looking, but not grounded in reality enough.
So I kept calm, it went away. In the end, I was shaken but that was all.

As a note, I'm a Narcoleptic. I've been having hallucinations since before I can even remember, and it's just a side-effect.
