Nightmares and sick?

Postby CarriePerson on Thu Jul 19, 2012 11:37 am

I've been feeling sick for about 6 days now with nausea and body aches. No fever. The nights where I can remember my dreams, I have horrible nightmares and feel very sick when I wake up from them. The one time I've slept through the whole night, I felt fine all day. I have trouble falling sleep as well, no matter how many sleep aids I take. Any suggestions on what's going on?

All I know is that when I am very scared or nervous, my body aches and I get nausea. Do you think that since your nightmares are so powerful on you that they
are making you feel ill. Intense emotions can do that to the body. As for the sleep aids, I hope you don't mind me suggesting things that work for most people.
I have chronic insomnia and had it all my life. What I find helpful is meditation, reading, having some tea, drawing, writing, or star-gazing.
If you have a dog or cat (or both), petting them may help. Some people say warm milk does the trick but I like soy milk and the idea of warm milk for me is gross.
I hope this helps! :) Sweet dreams!

PS: Going on the computer before bed can make you not sleep. Also, watch your sugar and caffeine intake before bed.

I think you have a point with the intense emotions making me feel ill. The nightmares have gotten really bad, and I wake up from them feeling sick. Thanks for the suggestions on getting to sleep as well, I'll have to give them a try :)
